Small plaque forming a nephrite jade pendant carved and openwork, decorated with two fish, from China, late Qing Dysnasty, late XIXth-XXth centuries.

This plaque is in good condition, it is mounted as a pendant or jewel.

A note: micro-scratches and slight wear on the jade, wear of time, see photos.

* Nephritis

is a rock composed essentially of a variety of amphibole, actinote. It is one of the two rocks called jade, the other being jadeite, composed mainly of jadeite, a variety of pyroxene. Nephrite is an ornamental stone, used in a wide variety of jewelry or decorative items.
