Netsuke* in bronze representing a Fô dog, from Japan, from the Meiji period (1868-1912) late 19th-early 20th centuries.
This netsuke is in good condition.
A note: dirt and slight wear of time, see photos.
The Netsuke is a traditional Japanese item of clothing used to hold the sagemono (literally "hanging objects"). Indeed, the kimono having no pocket, the various everyday objects are transported in sorts of small boxes called sagemono. These objects are suspended from the obi of their owner by a cord.
