Jobbana * or butter pot polychrome faience with rich floral and plant stylized, with colorful flowers in medallions, from Fez Morocco, XIXth century.
This jobbana is in good condition, it is in its own juice.
A note: some accidents, chips and chips on the edges of the pot and lid, enamelling defects, wear of time, look at the photos.
* Jobbanas derive directly from Chinese productions imported to Morocco from the end of the 18th century. The jobbanas inherited the stocky shapes of the ginger pots from Canton, but also gained in originality: the shapes flared, and the piece, initially from a holding with a small lid to its top, turned into " butter pot "with two bodies. The ceramic masters of Fez have also been able to impress upon them the mark of their creative genius: classical Chinese motifs have given way to the abundant floral repertoire of Fez, imbued with Hispano-Moorish reminiscences.
