Silk painting (embroidered and painted) also decorated with gold and silver thread embroidery, representing Saint Blaise* with his bishop's crosier and miter, in its gilded stuccoed wooden frame with palmettes and scrolls in the corners, from the First Empire period, early 19th century.

This painting is in good condition as is its frame. High quality.

Please note: slight small accidents and losses on the frame, slight wear and tear on the silk, look carefully at the photos.

* Saint Blaise:

Little is known about the life of Saint Blaise. We only know that he was bishop of Sebaste, and that he was martyred by the orders of Agricoiaus, governor of Cappadocia and little Armenia, around the year 316, during the persecution of Licinius.
