Plaster sculpture representing the head of the god Apollo, after the famous antique statue of the Apollo Belvedere*, from the 19th century.
This sculpture is in good general condition, the base is later.
Please note: some dirt and age-related damage, take a good look at the photos.
* The Apollo Belvedere is a Roman marble copy from the Antonine period after a Greek bronze original usually attributed to Leochares, a sculptor from the second half of the 4th century BC. It represents the god Apollo walking, holding in his hand what was probably a bow. It is exhibited at the Museo Pio Clementino (Vatican Museums) under number 1015.
