Superb and rare pair of reliefs Capodimonte porcelain plates polychrome * showing two mythological scenes with many characters ancient temples near colonnade, a scene certainly is the episode of the rape of the Sabines, in frames copper and wood decorated with marble medallions, period early nineteenth century.

These plates are in good condition and frames. The plates are signed on the back, one of which still bears a trace of collection label. The frames are original, they are finely decorated with heads of cherubs.

report has two gaps on the side of a frame (see red arrows), small break on the marble inset bottom of a frame, slight wear and dirt on the frames and the plates, see photos.

* The Capodimonte porcelain

is a porcelain produced by the factory of the same name established in 1743 on the Capodimonte hill area of ??Naples, under the aegis of Charles of Bourbon, King of Naples and the future Charles III of Spain. With his wife, Queen Marie-Amélie, they establish the Royal Factory in Capodimonte Capodimonte adjoining palaces of Naples, former summer royal residence. With this factory, monarchs give rise to a form of the famous Italian art. The king collects masterpieces at Capodimonte Museum. The Capodimonte porcelain has survived time thanks to the creativity of the Neapolitan artists. The objects porcelain Capodimonte (signed by a crowned N) are recognized and sought after by collectors.
