Very nice plaster sculpture of the bust of a man of his time personality, perhaps a significant or political signed HR Moncassin * vintage twentieth century.
The bust is in good condition. It is signed on the side. He still carries an exhibition label (with a number).
A note: some Petts chips and gaps including a face side (see red arrows), micro-chips on the edge of the base, few scratches, dirt and wear time, see pictures.
sculptor (Ec en). Student Antonin Mercie. He exhibited at the Salon in 1905. He obtained the second Grand Prix of Rome. In 1908, thanks to a scholarship, he traveled through Italy. In 1911, "Youth" is noticed at the Salon of French Artists and purchased in bronze by the Petit Palace. Then has authored numerous monuments to the war dead. One could also prefer his work the many busts of children, where he excelled. Many portraits of personalities were ordered by following him. (See Bénézit)
