Small oil on panel depicting the scene of the encounter between Jesus, accompanied by his apostles, and the Canaanite *, signed lower right, period late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
This table is in good condition. Signed lower right but difficult to read. It will be reattached in its frame.

* The healing of the daughter of a Canaanene is one of the miracles attributed to Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 15, verses 21 to 28. "Jesus, having departed from there, withdrew into the territory of Tire and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman, coming from these countries, cried to her, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is cruelly tormented by the demon. He did not answer him a word, and his disciples came to him, and said to him earnestly, Send her away, for she cries behind us.
