Oil on panel painting Carnac Baldwin 19th

Oil on panel depicting the menhirs near the sea, certainly near Carnac in Morbihan (Brittany), painted by Paul Baldwin *, period late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

This table is in good condition. It is not signed but comes from the artist's studio (some tables are signed).

* Paul Albert Baudouin (1844-1931) (Ec en)

Member of French Artists, standout, he won a third class medal in 1882, a second class medal in 1886, a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889. He was PRMO Knight of the Legion d'Honneur in 1891. He made murals and decorative panels which he presented at the Salon. His studio, where he trained fresco, contributed to the recovery of a technique that was no longer practiced since the Renaissance. The Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen keeps a portrait of Paul Baudouin Myrthée by Baillon Wailly. The museum in the castle of Jules Michelet Vascœuil keeps drawings and paintings of Paul Baudouin.
