Oil on canvas representing the portrait of a young woman of the Empire elegantly dressed in a blue dress enhanced with a chain, signed J. Volpelière and dated 1829, in a gilded stucco frame, from the 19th century.
This table is in good condition. Signed egt dated on the left side. It has been re-coated.

Painter of history and portraits. Pupil of Serangeli. She exhibited at the Salon from 1808 to 1838. Second-class medalist in 1810. The Museum of Versailles keeps from her a painting "Jourdain lieutenant colonel in the 2nd battalion of Haute-Vienne" (1792). We also quote "Saint-Martin" for a church in Perpignan. She runs a painting workshop for the use of young ladies. Bénézit extract
