* George Guinegault (1893-1983)

is a French painter. In June 1913, a student at the School of Fine Arts in Rennes, he won a prize in the general competition for decorative composition, "Bacon de Fenêtre", organized by the State Secretariat for Fine Arts at the National School of Paris Fine Arts. In June 1912, he had obtained a mention in this same competition. This painter and engraver was then a pupil of Eugène Delâtre at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He painted landscapes of Paris, of the Manche department, in particular in the Hague, of Brittany (Quiberon, Saint-Malo...), of the Riviera (Saint-Tropez), of the Pyrenees, of Beauce, of Basque country (1948) as well as orientalist scenes during his stay in Morocco (Marrakech, Meknes...). His Moroccan works are particularly sought after today. He also paints portraits.
