Large oil on canvas representing the portrait of Charles-Gui Le Borgne de Kermorvan*, bishop of Tréguier (Brittany) from 1746, in prelate's outfit, holding a work in his right hand, in a gilded wooden baguette frame, d 18th century period.

This painting is in good condition, it was subsequently re-covered. The baguette is from the 18th century, in its own juice.

* Charles-Gui Le Borgne de Kermorvan (1695 in Pleyben - 1761 in Tréguier)

is a French prelate of the 18th century. Charles-Gui Le Borgne de Kermorvan was born in the diocese of Léon. He is the 3rd son of Jacques Le Borgne lord of Kermorvan and Catherine Le Borgne daughter of Gui Le Borgne lord of Treuscoët and Françoise Legendre. Destined for the Church, he became vicar general of Saint-Pol-de-Léon for the “Lower Bretons” whose language he spoke. He became vicar general of the diocese of Tréguier and was named bishop of Tréguier in 1746. He was consecrated by the archbishop of Paris Jacques Bonne-Gigault de Bellefonds. Struck by an attack of paralysis, he did not relinquish his bishopric. He is the last bishop of Tréguier to die in the episcopal city and to be buried in its cathedral.
