Very nice oil on board, with an old windmill, certainly in Picardy, painted by Auguste Soup * vintage twentieth century.
This table is in good condition. It is signed lower right. A report: slight wear on the edges.
* Soup Auguste (1884-1962), French artist, began modestly in life as a laborer. After attending evening classes at the Ecole de Beaux-Arts de Roubaix (he had studied with the famous painter Harpignies), painting became his livelihood. Inhabitant of Amiens, soup is committed to the city and Picardy which take up considerable space in his paintings, watercolors and drawings. But the eclectic soup pushes also work in other areas, especially Britain and the Périgord, which inspired a large part of his work. He also made paintings including religious stained glass windows for the cathedral of Amiens. Some of his paintings are in the Museum of Peronne.
