Painting of a young child wearing a wicker basket in a flower garden, with the church steeple in the background, signed René Etienne *, period late nineteenth century.
This oil is in good condition and frame. It is signed lower left. It is marked on the back "I certify that this painting was painted by my husband René Etienne," signed "Martine Etienne Rene".
A note: traces of restorations on back, tiny accidents on the frame, see photos.

* Ernest Rene-Etienne (nineteenth-twentieth): (Ec en) pupil of Jules Lefebvre, Gabriel Ferrier and C.Berlon. Member of French Artists since 1899. He appeared at the Salon of that company. Honorable mention in 1899, bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900. (Excerpt Bénézit)
