HST and Female Gorilla by Alika Lindbergh Monique Watteau twentieth

Oil on canvas depicting a young woman hugging a fantastic gorilla in lush vegetation, entitled "The Godmother of the little fairy," Alika Lindbergh * signed, dated 1976, antique twentieth century.

This painting is in good condition. It is signed lower right and back, it is dated "12-76" on the back.

* Alika Lindbergh / Monique Watteau (1929): Belgian painter and writer. She studied classics, then took courses at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Liege to devote himself to drawing and theater. In Paris, Jean Anouilh and discovers she is a few movie roles. His first book, published in 1954, The Wrath plant, subtitled The Revolt of the Gods Green, launching his career in fantasy literature, marked by a fantastic female eroticism and strangeness. She had accompanied her husband, Bernard Heuvelmans, an anthropologist, Malaysia and Sumatra, including the exotic destinations and legends may have influenced the fur Angel (1958). She then turned to painting nder the name Alika Lindbergh. His work as a painter is a kind of dream world where they meet in a palette of rich colors elves, nymphs, mysterious forests, serene lakes or mountains fantastic.
