This table is in good condition. It is signed lower right. It is marked on the back of the chassis: "Lepauvre the moor at night."

French painter and sculptor. It first follows the course of the academic school of Saint-Omer, then in 1859, those of François Jouffroy at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. It begins at the Salon of 1863. Particularly productive artist, he exhibited regularly numerous busts and statues, portraits of historical, contemporary and saints. He is the stepfather of the sculptor Jules Déchin. Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneur.
