* Luis Jimenez y Aranda (1845-1928)

brother José and Manuel Jimenez y Aranda, this artist of the School of Fine Arts in Seville worked successively in Seville, his hometown, where he studied in Rome, Paris and finally in Pontoise where he settled after Pontoise 1876. The museum preserves some landscapes reads a very discreet influence of Impressionism. Jimenez was originally made that stays in Pontoise another artist from Seville, his friend Emilio Sanchez Perrier. Alongside a academic production exhibited at the Salons of the National from 1864 or during the World Fairs and with which he obtained success - he received a gold medal in 1889 for his painting A hospital visit - it seeks to reconcile realism and freer en plein air, in a synthesis that Spanish historians sometimes denominate "Precisionism".
