Exceptional and rare large HST representing a peasant holding two of his oxen in a country landscape at dawn or dusk, painted by Jean-Cyprien Teilliet * vintage late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

This table is in good condition, it has been thoroughly cleaned. It is very decorative because of its large size. It is not signed. The frame is itself damaged in places. (The bridge shown with this picture is sold separately).

* Jean-Cyprien Teilliet (1870-1931) (Ec en):

landscape painter born in Saint-Junien (Haute-Vienne). Pupil of Gerome, Benjamin Constant and JP.Laurens. Associate of French Artists since 1901, it figured in the Salon of that group; honorable mention in 1898. (Bénézit extract) A museum dedicated to him in his hometown of Saint-Junien. A similar picture of plowing oxen is inventoried and hung at the prefecture of Limoges.
