Superb oil on canvas depicting a herd of wild boar in a snowy landscape, signed and dated GFRötig * 1943 vintage twentieth century.
This oil is in very good condition. It is signed and dated lower right.
A note: tiny wear on the frame.
Student of B.Constant, J.Lefebvre and JPLaurens he exhibited at the Salon of French Artists since 1894 medalist in 1902 and 1904, and won the prize Rosa Bonheur in 1913; an associate exhibition games. Rötig is mainly known as animal painter. There are several of his works in the museums of Amiens Cambrai and Le Havre. (Bénézit extract)
