Very nice oil on panel depicting a landscape of verdant banks of the Seine, attributed to Alfred Veillet * vintage twentieth century.

This oil is in good condition and frame. It is not signed but is attributed to Veillet painter.

A note: some tiny little accidents on the frame, paint tiny gaps particularly in the sky, see photos.

* Alfred Veillet (1882-1958):

young, with no artistic training, he has the revelation of Corot; Later he was influenced by Monet and Sisley, and especially by Maximilian Luce with whom he often works in the Rolleboise area. It also sets up his easel dansla Seine valley, the Meuse, the Yonne, Charente, Ré Island and Noirmoutier, Provence, etc. Attentive to show water and sky, Veillet is an endearing post-impressionist, full of verve and poetry, sometimes manifesting a certain melancholy nature before he apprehends the fugitive character. He exhibited at the Salon des Independents where Apollinaire notices it and judge in 1914 and its landscapes are "delicate like the Rhone sites that inspired them." (See Dictionary of small masters of painting, for G.Schurr and P. Cabanne).

Artist very well on Artprice side, works by this artist have been sold in major auction houses such as Drouto, Sotheby's, Christie's.
