Large oil on canvas depicting The Dream of Jacob after the painting by Ludovico Cardi said Cigoli *, Jacob asleep dreaming of a staircase leading to heaven and to God (episode described in Genesis), XIXth century.
This oil on canvas is in good condition and is very decorative because of its large size. Its chassis is key. Its frame is later (twentieth century). It is signed lower right "A. Desch"? according Cardi.
A note: some small gaps and cracks in the paint, wear time, see photos.
