Very nice pair of earthenware vases or ceramic pottery known impressionist of Montigny-sur-Loing *, decorated with beautiful colorful flowers, signed on the side, then late nineteenth century.

These vases are in good condition. They are signed and numbered on the ass and signed by the artist on the side (see last picture unreadable.)

A report: shrapnel in the ass of one of the vases (see red arrows), on the other hair, wear time, see photos.

* The term ceramic impressionist generally applies to "paint the slip" or "batch gouache." At the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the village of Montigny-sur-Loing and Marlotte are many places to stay painters like Jean-Baptiste Corot, Eugène Thirion (1839-1910), Adrien Schulz (1851-1931), Numa Gillet (1868-1940) and Lucien Cahen-Michel (1888-1980), all attracted by the quality of the landscape and light. When Eugene Schopin founded in 1872 a ceramic factory, he collaborated with these artists to create a range of models inspired by Impressionism and decorated according to the new demands of the public. Several ceramic factories will develop around this impressionist. The most famous, such as George Delvaux (1834-1909), Albert Boué (1862-1918) and Alphonse Charles Petit (1862-1927), will produce until 1922. Other manufacturers, such as Theodore Lefront Fontainebleau, collaborate with artists and ceramists Montigny.
