Beautiful vase neck swollen polychrome sandstone Quimper, signed HB Quimper Odetta 230-1065, decor Georges Brisson *, representing Breton with behind Breton characters in shadow, and geometric patterns, vintage twentieth century.

This vase is in good condition. It is signed underneath. It still has its original label "Decor entirely by hand."

Georges Brisson (1902-1980)

The son of an industrialist Nantes, Georges Brisson studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Nantes. Around 1922, he began collaborating with the manufacture of earthenware Quimper HB, until 1928. He was responsible for many of the decorations parts rather Art Deco style, including the series of Odetta. Meanwhile, he continued his career as an illustrator and painter. In 1924 he produced his first abstract painting and will devote more than painting from 1930, leaving the Decorative Arts. He exhibits mostly in the Nantes region and the Museum of Fine Arts in Nantes organized a retrospective in 1978.
