He is a painter on porcelain training. He has been living in Paris since 1843, and has been a porcelain merchant since 1852. In 1861, he applied to the company Klotz et cie, a porcelain factory and decoration workshops, to own a plate-making press for its manufacture. He obtained authorization on 23 March 1863 to use a lithographic press for his decals on porcelain. In 1868 he applied for a lithograph patent in order to produce and sell the lithographic proofs of the models he produced. His establishment is considered "considerable and his clientele numerous". In addition, he works on a patent for the reproduction of proofs. It thus obtains to transform the authorization into patent. Works at 22, rue du Paradis Poissonnière in Paris.
