Born in Paris in 1932, the painter Jean-Claude Bourgeois lives in Franche-Comté in the country of Gustave Courbet. He follows the School of Fine Arts in Besançon. In 1957, he was noticed by art critics Georges Besson, Raymond Cogniat and Guy Dornand, and encouraged by Marcel Aymé. It imposes itself with a very personal invoice. Jean-Claude Bourgeois is part of the Young Painting Movement (1949-1961). He is a member of the main Parisian salons. He has exhibited regularly in Paris since 1957, in Besançon since 1960 and also manifests itself in the provinces and abroad. The Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris and many provincial and foreign museums have bought several of his works (see Comtois art website)
