* Joseph Edouard Goerg (1893-1969): born in Australia, of French parents in a family of merchants champagnes, it soon spread their counter in England, where he remained for several years before moving to Paris in 1900. Therefore, the young Edward traveled extensively in France, Italy, India and Ceylon. Early for painting, he became a pupil of Paul Sérusier and Maurice Denis at the Académie Ranson, where he studied from 1913 to 1914. The long conflict against his father until the death of the latter (1929) directs the paint Goerg to a critique of society. From 1920, he became one of the major figures of French expressionism. But a whole period of his work also brings the surrealism, especially its work in the field of lithography. In the interwar period, its success is evident. He did not participate in the least sacred art workshops with his former master Maurice Denis.Dans the 1950s, he taught the art of engraving at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
