Watercolored optical view entitled 'The Interior of the Port of Marseille' depicting numerous figures on the quays, with moored boats, engraved by Balthazar Friedrich Leizelt*, after a painting by Vernet, from the 1778 period, 18th century.

This optical view is in good condition, it is framed (posterior frame).

Please note: some slight yellowing, slight wear from time, see photos.

* Balthasar Friedrich Leizelt

(active 1750–1800) was a German artist and copperplate engraver from Augsburg. Leizelt produced a series of European and American panoramic views at a time when images of foreign countries and people were popular and designed for use in optical viewers. He also engraved maps.
