Very nice engraving of a map of "Old World following the sharing of the children of Noah after their arrival dispersion at Babel," prepared by the RP Dom Augustin Calmet * and engraved by Starckman, dated 1721, antique eighteenth century.
This card is in good condition as well as his most recent frame.

(Born Antoine Calmet) (1672-1757) was a scholar and Lorraine scholar of the eighteenth century, known as Dom Calmet, a Benedictine of the Congregation of Saint-Valve and St. Hydulphe. He became abbot of St. Leopold of Nancy in 1718. The work of Dom Augustin Calmet is eclectic and prolific.
