He perfected his learning to oil paint to François Lemoyne. He won the grand prize for painting in 1723 and stayed in Italy from 1727 to 1731. He obtained his return from Italy of company success and the favor of Madame de Pompadour. He became the fashionable painter. So it works for senior members of the court.
