Pseudonym of Karnik Zouloumian (born in Aleppo Syria 1907-2000) is a French painter, engraver and decorator of Armenian descent. Brilliant student of the French high school of Cairo, he gets a scholarship to come to study architecture in Paris, while he only dreams of the Fine Arts! His passion will be the strongest and it is only he that will learn the expression of his art. From 1930 onwards, his artistic career was marked by the various Salons in which he participated. He quickly asserts himself as one of the leaders of his generation (with Buffet, Pignon, De Stael, Clavé and Bazaine in particular) winning the Hallmark Prize three times. His first special exhibitions (from 1939 onwards) show a very personal talent and a meteoric vision of the world around him. The power of his work, especially the strength of his stroke and the realism of his compositions, recognized in the late 1940s, made him one of the most influential painters of the next generation ... He died On 12 August 2000, leaving behind an impressive work of power, singularity and vision. (Cf site passion prints)
