Reliquary paperolle * dedicated to several Saints: Urbana, Modestina, Victoriae Mari, Illuminati, Vitalis and Theophilus, with a central medallion of wax with the portrait of Pope Clement X **, in a gilded wood frame, vintage eighteenth century.
This reliquary is in good condition.
A note: the wax medallion is broken in the top, a few minor accidents and wear on the sets and aperitifs, wear time, look at the photos.
** Emilio Altieri, born in Rome on July 13, 1590, was the 239th pope of the Catholic Church under the name of Clement X from April 29, 1670 to July 22, 1676. Pope Clement X had the Saint Angelo Bridge decorated with the ten statues of Bernini's angels in Carrara marble.

The paperolle is a very old technique used in the Middle Ages, in poor churches, to imitate filigree decorations of gold or silver. The achievements were often reliquaries called reliquary paperolles. Paperolle is a term derived from paper. It designates not only the technique, but also the paper realization. The term rolled papers is sometimes used as a synonym.
