Lacquered and gilt carved wooden bas-relief panel with mother-of-pearl inlay, depicting Asian characters in a garden, probably a Chinese dignitary with his guards and servants visiting a wise man sitting at the water's edge, from China , XIXth century.
This panel is in good condition and is very decorative. The part forming the ground is decorated with inlays of mother-of-pearl (lacks).
A note: wear and lack of paint in the background, ususers of polychrome and gilding in places, some gaps on the frame, see photos.
