Rare and imposing pair of so-called "financial" candlesticks in Swiss solid silver, hallmark of the Bossard * silversmith, large shaft of haxagonal section with grooves, on a large round plinth, from the second half of the 19th century.
These candlesticks are in very good condition and are of exceptional quality. They are very decorative due to their imposing size. Swiss hallmarks and 875 J. Bossard signature.

Son of Johann Caspar Balthasar, silversmith. After an apprenticeship with his father, he completed his training in Geneva, Paris, London and in the United States (Cincinnati, New York), then opened in Lucerne a gold and silver workshop of European reputation. Collector of antiques. Distinctions in Zurich (1883) and Nuremberg (1885), gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris (1889). Alongside luxury items such as the 1893 cup with lid (Swiss National Museum), the Bossard workshop produced liturgical utensils, table silverware and cups for corporations and companies.
