Bowl or bowl with a socket for child in finely chiseled American solid silver, ax punch for WM.B. KERR & CO *, richly decorated on the edges of illustrations for children's stories (Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, etc.), from the end of the 19th century.

was a manufacturer of jewelry, cutlery and silverware. Established in Newark, New Jersey in 1855, he is listed in the 1915 edition of the jewelry trademarks, located at 144 Orange St. Kerr's. Hallmark of a medieval ax from 1855 to 1892. Renowned for Art Nouveau jewelry, hollow silver items and vanity items. Absorbed by Gorham in 1927. Kerr was known for his elaborate and unique Art Nouveau pieces, more particularly for the American Beauty series, as well as for his numerous patterns of cutlery and buckets for children with nursery rhymes and images.
