Shaker in solid English silver, hallmarks of Birmingham, letter date 1900 and silversmith Barker Bros *, from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries.

* Company established in Birmingham in 1801. The company still owns the original Boulton & Watt dies acquired at the start of its manufacture. The firm appears in an 1871 directory as Barker Brothers, goldsmiths active in Paradise Street. In 1903 they moved to new factory premises, Unity Works, Constitution Hill, Birmingham, where they remained until the 1980s maintaining a showroom in London in the early 20th century.
