The April 25, 1860, the young goldsmith Ditlev Madsen Cohr opened a studio in the Danish city of Fredericia. He died in 1883 and its production was taken over by his eldest son Carl Madsen Cohr. In 1921, the production of goods begins with the silver mark on the silver ATLA. The company passed from generation to generation and becomes the largest silverware factory in Denmark. The factory closed in 1987.
