Globe or world map prepared by Charles Dien, "Globe classic New Edition By Ch. Dien Silver Medal Revue in 1845, in Paris at Ch. Dien, Rue Hautefeuille No. 13", with its meridian circle and brass equatorial table pewter or zinc, blackened wooden base, mid-nineteenth century.

This globe is in good condition.

A note: some accidents and lack of paper on the globe, rubbing on the paper against the circle, wear of time, well look at the photos (see red arrows).

* Charles Dien Father worked as an engraver for the Delamarche family around 1819. His son, Charles Dien (1809-1870), astronomer and cosmographer, was the author of several planetarium, terrestrial globes and celestial, including the one -this. He published several atlases on astronomical phenomena and in 1833 a description and use of the celestial globe. Dien son, made globes essentially between 1840 and 1850.
