Senior Naval Officer Saber, model 1853, gilded and perforated brass guard with anchor and foliage decoration, horn handle, scabbard with two brass fittings with shell decoration, anchors and foliage scrolls, signed blade Coulaux & Cie * Klingenthal, vintage early third Republic nineteenth century.
This sword is in good condition, it is in its own juice. He has his strap with pompom. The sleeve opens in two (without brass trim). The signature of the blade is worn.

From 1801 to 1836, Jacques and Julien Coulaux were successively director of Manufacture Impériale d'armes blanches and the Royal Manufacture of Klingenthal. In 1838, the Manufacture Royale was bought. Julien Coulaux sells the company to his son. The company becomes Coulaux Aîné & Cie. In 1840 Charles-Louis Coulaux became the owner and manager of the Molsheim, Gresswiller, Mutzig and Klingenthal factories. The company is then called Coulaux & Cie. From 1887 to 1925, it is the son of Charles-Louis Coulaux who runs the company Coulaix & Cie SA.
