1830 National Guard infantry officer's saber, bronze and brass hilt with watermark, blade signed Coulaux Frères* in Klingenthal, with its scabbard, from the 19th century.

From 1801 to 1836, Jacques and Julien Coulaux were successively in charge of the Imperial Manufacture of white weapons and the Royal Manufacture of Klingenthal. In 1838, the Manufacture Royale was bought. Julien Coulaux sells the business to his son. The company becomes Coulaux Aîné & Cie. In 1840, Charles-Louis Coulaux became the owner and director of the factories in Molsheim, Gresswiller, Mutzig and Klingenthal. The company was then called Coulaux & Cie. From 1887 to 1925, Charles-Louis Coulaux's son ran the company Coulaix & Cie SA.
