Large paddle from the Dayak* culture, originating from the Borneo Islands (Indonesia - Southeast Asia), in wood carved with geometric and stylized patterns, from the early 20th century.
This paddle is in good overall condition, nice quality.

* The Dayak (or Daya) are a group of indigenous peoples of the islands of Borneo, shared between Indonesia and Malaysia, Sumatra and Celebes. This population is divided into approximately 450 ethnic groups. Among the most important Dayak groupings, we can cite the Kayan and the Kenyah, of the center and the east of Borneo, the Ngadju of the south of Borneo, the Dayak of the southwest of the island, the Iban or Dayak, of the sea in Sarawak. At the beginning of the 21st century, the number of Dayak of Borneo would be more than 4 million.
