Superne and rare wooden frame blackened and gilded, decorated with garlands and plant a shell at the top, with three small medals: a Legion of Honor, a medal of St. Helena and * (certainly) Medal the Order of Pius IX ** (dated 1847), XIXth century.

This frame is in good condition.

A note: small lack in the top break in the bottom slots on wood, wear time on medals, see pictures.

* The Medal of St. Helena was created under the Second Empire, August 12, 1857. It is considered the first "commemorative medal" French. It rewards 405,000 soldiers still living in 1857, who fought alongside Napoleon 1st during the wars of 1792-1815.

** The order of Pius IX was created by Pope of the same name on June 17, 1847. This order includes three classes: Grand Cross (giving personal nobility), Commander and Knight. This order, which can receive non-Catholics, was awarded to officers and non-commissioned officers of the French troops and papal troops. The ribbon of the decoration is blue double red border, the medal eight blue branches labeled "Virtuti and Merito".
