is a bow manufacturer based in Mirecourt in France. He was influenced by the school of Dominique Peccatte. The work of Prosper Colas is similar to that of François Bazin, Charles Claude Husson and Pierre Cuniot. Around 1871, he moved to Paris where he met Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume and worked for him. The first bearing his trademark bow can be dated to this period and reflect the influence of Vuillaume. His best production from the early twentieth century, stamped PC. Prosper Colas died in 1919, when his company was taken over by Ferret-Marcotte.
