Pair of Sevres bronze censers Susse Paris, the nineteenth

Pair of gilt bronze censers finely chopped, decorated with garlands of flowers and plants, glassware certainly the crystal of Sevres, signed "Susse Frères * Place de la Bourse", period late nineteenth century.

These casseroles are in juice, they suffered some uses of time.

A note: splinters and gaps on two passes, missing a bronze wreath, one leg is removed, traces of plaster on the same footing, one of the vessels is blocked by a piece of plaster, micro-chips and scratches on glassware, well look at the pictures.


The company Susse brothers **

Founded in 1758, in Paris, originally stationery trade, she won acclaim in the art foundry. The Susse brothers, Nicolas and Victor, began by marketing their small bronzes in the Passage des Panoramas stationery. We find traces of their new business founders of Art in 1839, they publish a small catalog of their production. This is their first contract with a renowned sculptor, James Pradier, who in 1841 launched their business. In 1847, they use the reduction process Wild that allows the realization of small bronze furnishings reproducing famous works. Under the Second Empire, the house thrives on many artists completing its catalog. Nicolas and Victor had died, it was Albert who Susse continuous activity, based on two retail stores in Paris. A third will open in 1900 at 13 Boulevard Madeleine.C is today the oldest art foundry in France still active and has been awarded the Living Heritage.
