* From the beginning of the eighteenth century, France is the largest producer of spectrum in Europe. The decor of the first French fans is borrowed from illuminated manuscripts and tapestries. From 1770, the neoclassical influences manufacturing: the branches are less ornate and the sheet is often decorated with medallions. The painted fans back up to date under the Second Empire.
