By her aunt Sophie Frémiet he is the nephew and pupil of sculptor François Rude, including Louis Frémiet, Sophie's father, was the master. It is also linked to the realist school. It is famous for its statue of Joan of Arc in Paris and the monument to Ferdinand de Lesseps in Suez. He was the father-Gabriel Fauré. He devoted himself primarily to animal sculpture and equestrian statues in armor.
