Fan bones (beef) finely carved, decorated with inlays (gilding, silver and colors) of stylized plant motifs, embroidered silk ribbons small embroidered sequins, XIXth century.

This range is in good condition, it is of high quality.

* From the beginning of the eighteenth century, France is the largest producer of spectrum in Europe. The decor of the first French fans is borrowed from illuminated manuscripts and tapestries. From 1770 the neoclassical influences the production: the branches are less ornate and the sheet is often decorated with medallions. The painted fans back to date under the Second Empire. The subjects are often imitations of the themes of the previous century: gallant and pastoral scenes. The old fans are sought by collectors. (Larousse)
