* Christofle

Is a French goldsmith's trade mark, founded in 1830 by Charles Christofle. His master-goldsmith's punches were deposited in 1845, the date of the first "gold-silver work" factory. At the end of the 19th century, Christofle now produces silver-plated objects. In 1851 the Emperor Napoleon III commissioned all the official table services of the Empire at Christofle. From the second half of the 19th century, Christofle also became the supplier of ministries, embassies, parliaments all over the world, but also luxury hotels, shipping and railway companies, both French and foreign.

** Jean Filhos (1921-2002)

He studied architecture and sculpture, then, after meeting Laurens, who profoundly marks him, he abandons the profession of architect to devote himself entirely to sculpture and goldsmithery. In 1960, he discovered the synthetic materials which, from that moment, became the element through which he expressed himself most easily. A jewelery designer, he made a series of erotic pieces that knew a certain resonance. He has exhibited since 1962, and participates in many Salons. (Extrait Bénézit)
