Black Forest carved wooden mirror * representing an eagle with spread wings holding a crescent-shaped glass in its greenhouses, sulphuret eyes, of the nineteenth century.
This mirror is in good condition and is of high quality. The mirror is original.

The wooden carved objects of the Black Forest are not native to Germany but were manufactured in the region of brienz, Switzerland . The tradition of woodworking is ancestral in this region, the inhabitants perpetuate the practice of carved wood on the facades of houses , the furniture or the usual objects . The sculptors excel in the representation of wild animals in their natural environment. In the 19th century, these naturalist sculptures of the Black Forest became very popular and popular.
