is a watch brand originally from Palente district of Besançon (Doubs). In 1867, Emmanuel Lipmann, with his son Ernest and Camille, founded a watchmaking workshop under the brand Comptoir Lipmann. The workshop becomes, in 1893, the Société Anonyme d'Horlogerie Lipmann Brothers. In 1896, the Lip stopwatch is started, this designation is the mark of the watch manufacturer and appears on all the dials of watches.
