is a watch brand originally from Palente district of Besançon (Doubs). In 1867, Emmanuel Lipmann, with his son Ernest and Camille, founded a watchmaking workshop under the brand Comptoir Lipmann. The workshop became in 1893 the Société Anonyme d'Horlogerie Lipmann Brothers. In 1896, Lip stopwatch is started, the designation becomes the mark of the watch manufacturer and appears on all the dials of watches.
